Turkey

Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, Azerbaijan (Nakhchivan), and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the south. It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the Black Sea to the north. The country’s strategic position makes it a bridge between Europe and Asia. Turkey (officially the Republic of Türkiye) is a transcontinental country located mainly on the Anatolian Peninsula in Western Asia, with a smaller portion on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeastern Europe.
